Margaret Atwood describes meeting friends for what she calls “the organ recital,” where they talk about which parts of their bodies are ailing and failing."
A warped sense of humour really is armour against an absurd world.
one of my closest friends has ADHD and when i tell you i never hear from them but when i got a problem they are locked in with 400 solutions, they are focused, and they’re solving the problem right away and then they disappear again. i love them so much.
A friend of mine used to say: "Confidence isn’t built by thinking positive thoughts. It’s built by doing difficult things while your brain screams at you to stop."
Damn, was he right.
Every time you replace “I’m overwhelmed” with “I need to decide what matters most and go slow,” your brain stops firing alarm signals and starts organizing information again.
