How and why you #SecondChance Hire matters! When employers hire those with records as a cheap labor solution, they see mixed employee performance results…at best. When employers see hiring as an INVESTMENT into people’s lives AND their business, better results follow.

The average cost of incarcerating an individual in the Federal Prison system in 2017 was just over $36,000 per year. The data shows a cycle of prisoner “release and return” that is costly to the taxpayer and demonstrates a breakdown in the social and spiritual values of the USA.
The US has the highest incarceration rate in the world, with 737 prisoners per 100,000 individuals as of July 2017. This surpasses the per capita incarceration rate of Russia and China combined. Help us change the criminal justice system in America.

Many housing options upon release from prison, like halfway houses or staying with family, are temporary. The challenge to find a more permanent (and affordable) living arrangement remains.
What would it look like if more states not only "banned the box", but put systems in place to "clear the record" for minor offenses often committed in a person's youth? https://t.co/mI7mcrgk3s #cjreform
