We know Jesus has often been misrepresented. We’re striving together to make the real Jesus known by being honest about our failures, loving the way He loves, serving the city for the good of all, and inviting everybody into the family of God.
Stickers on the way!
I drew this labyrinth to help me walk slowly & repeatedly through the Lord’s Prayer back in 2020.
I’ve found this prayer to be deep and wide, and I’m excited to be walking through it together at @redemptionga beginning Oct. 2.
Jesus did more than make us friends with people like us, He made us family with people unlike us.
May we be continually transformed into a church that makes the real Jesus known by inviting everybody into the family of God.
Beginning this Sunday we are going to once again require that masks be worn regardless of vaccination status during our gatherings in the auditorium and in all Redemption Kids rooms. https://t.co/j4CiNngZHy
Thread:
Have you ever heard a friend or family member make a racial slur in an otherwise congenial moment? Have you felt the tension rise within you as you try to discern whether standing up for people who aren’t present is worth creating conflict with those who are?
If so, then you know that often in moments like that pride will keep you silent.
But Jesus repeatedly stood up for justice at the risk of upsetting the influential, and in His humility He became an outsider and laid down His life to make room for everybody in the family of God.

“We know that Jesus has often been misrepresented by the church, and that means us, we are not exempt from it all. And if we want to know and make known the real Jesus, we need to look to Jesus and let His Word correct our misunderstandings about the cross and resurrection.”
Sermon this morning at my church: The gospel advances best through us not through our campaigns or empire-building, but through our Christlike radical love. @Ben_Riche@redemptionga
Concluded this morning by praying for our enemies. 🙏
