@LockedOn_Sens Isn't he from California? Has anyone compared Mooney's Bay beach with Santa Monica? After growing up in Ott and living in LA, I just don't see any scenario where JR comes here.
@SunGarrioch Not a great statement from SS. How many NTCs does Ottawa land on? You know from your reporting that players are refusing to waive. It's an issue and it's dishonest for the team to pretend it doesn't exist.
@jpolly22 The NHL needs to limit how many times any one team can appear on the NMCs. This is a 32 team league and you can't have Winnipeg being on everyone's list. Players refusing to play in certain markets isn't the ONLY reason it impacts success, but it def contributes to it.
@alexadamsBTP_ I felt like he was one of the players raising the level of his game through to the end of the season. Not sure why they'd want to move on
@SteveWarneMedia@TheHockeyNews So far I can't tell the difference between 'unparalleled success' and 'best in class'. Ott is still on most/all the NTCs, first round exits and at risk of losing our best players to warmer markets.
@islanders_takes Agreed, but the league has a responsibility to its fans. All 32 franchises. We can't have a league where 3-6 teams are the only places top players want to go.
@islanders_takes It's an international league and Gary does 0 to address the tax imbalance, and then NTCs are handed out like candy. As many as half the teams are at a real comp imbalance. Adjust the cap in higher tax markets, and limit how many times a team can be on an NTC. Gotta fix this.
@LalimesMartian Obv this is a take inside a small market, but I think the league should limit the amt of times a team can be on a NTC. Most NTCs are 🇨🇦 and the same three US teams. Not only do players contribute to the imbalance of talent, but owners can target teams with those deals.
@FAN590@mirtle@JDBunkis I hate the revenue/market narrative that has seeped into the NHL. Who we cheer for shouldn't be valued by TV deals and ad dollars. Have you noticed how hockey rabid fans are getting more and more frustrated with the league? They've lost sight of the fans.
@SteveWarneMedia How many times have we heard this narrative with the Sens? For anyone who's been on the wagon since their first playoff appearance in 97, it all just feels so familiar.
Ott has been swept 4 times, lost in 5 games 4 times, and never won a game 7.
@islanders_takes So you're saying the bottom teams aren't making any money so they should move? How do you know they aren't profitable? How long were the Coyotes in AZ again under league ownership and year over year actual losses?
