I recently had the opportunity to meet @TheAKGuy, who is running for Congress in Texas, at @TXGunRights event. And I genuinely enjoyed our conversation.

One thing that stood out to me was how openly he spoke about losing his previous election. He actually said he was happy he lost. Not because he didn't care, but because, looking back, he realized he wasn't ready at the time. Now, he believes he is.

Listening to him talk about his vision for Texas, his plans for the future, and the community he hopes to represent was refreshing.

I even offered to cater one of his campaign events for free as a professional chef. He respectfully declined, explaining that accepting the offer would raise campaign-finance concerns. I appreciated that he took those rules seriously.

As a veteran, former law enforcement officer, and small-business owner, I have my own perspective on leadership, service, and the challenges everyday Americans face.

I walked away from that conversation with a great deal of respect for Brandon and a renewed sense of optimism about the future of Texas.

Regardless of politics, I believe there's something valuable about meeting candidates face-to-face, hearing their stories, and understanding what motivates them to serve.

If you have the ability to legally and fairly vote for Brandon in this upcoming election, please do so! I cannot endorse a politician enough.

The battalion operations radio crackled with furious warnings, but 21-year-old Marine Corporal Dakota Meyer threw his radio headset down in utter disgust.

Chavez hit the gas.
Meyer manned the heavy .50 caliber machine gun in the open turret.
They charged straight into the valley under a blistering wall of incoming tracer fire.

The truck was shredded.
Shrapnel gouged into Dakota’s arm, but he kept firing until the barrel melted.
They broke through the enemy cordon, dragged wounded Afghan soldiers into the flatbed, and drove them back to safety.

Then, did they stop?
No. Dakota turned the truck around and DROVE BACK IN.
A second time.
A third time.
A fourth time.
Each trip deeper into the enemy kill zone, under withering RPG fire, retrieving wounded soldiers and providing cover for pinned-down Marines.

On his FIFTH and final run on foot, surrounded by muzzle flashes, Dakota found the bodies of his four closest fallen teammates—Lieutenant Michael Johnson, Staff Sergeant Aaron Kenefick, Gunnery Sergeant Edwin Johnson, and Hospital Corpsman James Layton.
Under heavy enemy fire, he carried their bodies back to the vehicle so no American brother would be left behind on foreign soil.

That day, Dakota Meyer single-handedly saved the lives of thirty-six men.
At age 23, he stood in the White House to receive the Medal of Honor, the youngest living Marine recipient in modern history.
