I’m officially on board for the Vic Discovery Tour with Tour de Cure!! Not riding, it’d take me weeks, but I’ll be supporting the riders!

🚴♂️✨ We recently hosted @tourdecure_aus at ONJCRI, showcasing our lab’s progress made possible by their generous $3.6M in grants! 🌟 Join us for the VIC Discovery Tour on Nov 17, from Halls Gap to Melbourne, and help fund our research. 🚴♀️💖 #CancerResearch
I presented at the 10th international Pint of Science festival last night and it was SO much fun!!!
10/10 would recommend getting to a show tonight, or next year if you can’t make it tonight!
Super excited to share that I am a recipient of one of the Tour de Cure PhD grants!
This support will help me continue my work, discovering more about γδ T cells and their role in breast cancer as a possible therapeutic tool.
Thank you so very much @tourdecure_aus
Amazing talks so far at Northern’s Brightest Stars Symposium today, held at @latrobe
Drew Berry @WEHI_research showcased his amazing medical animations
Jessica Duarte @ONJCRI shared her brilliant work in the immune environment of prostate cancer
I can't see another #PhD student or #postdoc crying because of toxic environments.
We are literally killing talents due to lack of people management skills.
Having people crying in your lab is not normal.

@SmritiPranjal @AcademicChatter@PhDVoice I have an excel spreadsheet, with a 1-5 rating regarding importance, the details of the paper, 5 keywords, and a basic summary. It’s really handy, and very easy to flick through when I’m looking for something.
NBCF are proud to announce the investment of over $12 million to 16 research projects with a focus on hard-to-treat breast cancers to support our vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer. https://t.co/4qYFv1PXQG
@melkorman@ThePhDPlace We technically have 4 weeks of leave available to us, and 10 days (I think) of sick leave. But students rarely take all that time
@ONJCRI researchers celebrating #DayOfImmunology by sharing our latest research ideas and discussing recent publications showing new ways immune cells can recognise tumour cells.
Join us for a virtual tour of our amazing work place: https://t.co/QZhHroaygy
@ASImmunology
@PhDVoice@PostdocVoice We have our own desks in an open office space, with dividers so we can actually get some work done. But private offices are reserved for lab heads
@jsmnpnv@PhDVoice I go to work earlier than most people, so I also leave earlier, which means the gyms are half empty, and there still feels like enough time left in the day after I get home from the gym. If I finished work at 5, I don’t think I could make myself go… 😅
Just attended a jaw-dropping talk from @purton_louise addressing inequity in Australian research funding.
I’m depressed at the current state of funding, yet so optimistic about the future, and extremely grateful for the work being done by Louise and her colleagues
