BREAKING: Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso calls on Kwankwasiyya members to protest at Kwankwaso’s residence over NDC candidate’s omission from INEC list
Following the omission of Kano NDC gubernatorial candidate from the INEC final list over failure to comply with Section 77 (5) (7) of the Electoral Act, 2026 as stated by the INEC in their release on 13 October 2026, Hon. (Dr) Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso has stirred the air by calling on the Kwankwasiyya members to stage a protest at Rabi’u Kwankwaso’s residence.
Hon. (Dr) Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, the dogged politician and one amongst the staunch Tinubu supporters in the North, has, in his recent interview with DCL Hausa, suspected that Kwankwaso and Buba Galadima are behind the omission of Kano NDC gubernatorial candidate, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam, from the INEC final list, claiming that they’ve betrayed and sold out both their supporters and the gubernatorial candidature for money.
The Kano APC chieftain, often fondly called “Likitan Siyasa”, meaning: “the political doctor”, has reiterated and reaffirmed his position that Kwankwaso is covertly working for the success of APC, not NDC and Peter Obi.

Nigeria Pitches $3.2bn Agrifood Investment Opportunities at Rome Forum
Nigeria has presented a $3.2 billion portfolio of agrifood investment opportunities aimed at boosting productivity, reducing post-harvest losses, expanding processing and strengthening domestic value chains.
The presentation was delivered on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, @SenatorAKyari CON, by Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Rome-Based Food Agencies, FAO, IFAD and WFP, Dr. Yaya Olaniran Olaitan Adisa, at the Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum in Rome.
The investment portfolio covers six strategic value chains: tomato, cassava, maize, dairy, fisheries and aquaculture, and beef feedlots.
According to the presentation, the opportunities require approximately $3.2 billion in investment, with projects offering potential commercial returns while delivering measurable economic, social and environmental benefits.
Nigeria highlighted its large market of 242.4 million people, 70.8 million hectares of agricultural land and significant opportunities for import substitution and domestic value addition.
The government also reaffirmed its commitment to creating an enabling environment for private investment through public programmes, fiscal incentives and partnerships with development institutions.
Kyari Meets Dimitra on Digital Agriculture and Carbon Credit Opportunities
The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, has held discussions with representatives of Dimitra on opportunities to scale digital agriculture, strengthen agricultural value chains and develop carbon credit projects in Nigeria.
The meeting, held in Rome, Italy, focused on Dimitra’s digital solutions for improving supply chain traceability, farmer data management and productivity across key commodities, including cocoa, coffee, rubber, soy, palm oil, cashew and maize.
The discussions also explored the potential of technology to support Nigerian farmers in meeting emerging international sustainability and traceability requirements, including the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Dimitra presented its experience in using technology to improve agricultural productivity, citing a project in Suriname where digital tools contributed to a 45 percent increase in pineapple yields.
The meeting further examined opportunities in carbon projects, including the financial models, long-term commitments and challenges associated with transitioning farmers to regenerative agricultural practices.
Participants stressed the need for a model that protects farmers from potential income and yield losses during the transition period while ensuring that carbon projects deliver tangible benefits to farming communities.
The parties agreed to further discussions, including a consultancy workshop and review of an anonymised carbon project case study, to clarify investment requirements, revenue sharing and implementation models for Nigeria.
Kyari Chairs Daki Farm Presentation on Digital Agriculture Solutions
The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, chaired a presentation by Daki Farm on its innovative digital agriculture platform and potential applications within Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The presentation introduced Daki Farm as an integrated agricultural “super app” designed to support farmers across the value chain, from production to market, using artificial intelligence, satellite technology, smart irrigation and digital marketplace solutions.
The platform features AI-powered crop disease detection, enabling farmers to upload images of crops for diagnosis and management advice. It also uses satellite imagery and IoT technology to support irrigation, fertilisation and field monitoring.
Daki Farm further demonstrated its multilingual and audio-enabled features, including Hausa, aimed at making digital agricultural services more accessible to farmers with limited literacy.
The presentation highlighted the platform’s use of agricultural data and predictive analytics to generate insights for farmers, investors, policymakers and other stakeholders.
The discussion also examined Nigeria’s existing digital agricultural ecosystem, with emphasis on identifying areas where Daki Farm could provide additional value, complement existing initiatives and support improved agricultural data management, traceability and investment decisions.
The presentation is part of ongoing engagements aimed at exploring innovative technologies that can contribute to Nigeria’s agricultural transformation.
Kyari Calls for Greater Investment in Africa’s Agricultural “First Mile”
The Chairperson of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Nigeria, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, has called for greater investment in the “first mile” of agriculture to strengthen food security, create jobs and raise farmers’ incomes across West and Central Africa.
Kyari made the call at the High-Level Roundtable on IFAD14: Investing in the First Mile in West and Central Africa, held at IFAD Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
He said food security depends not only on what farmers produce, but also on their ability to access markets, create value and earn better incomes. He reaffirmed Nigeria’s support for IFAD14’s priorities of deeper market integration, expanded rural employment and resilience to climate, conflict and economic shocks.
Highlighting Nigeria’s experience, Kyari noted that the IFAD-supported Value Chain Development Programme had linked 62 per cent of participating smallholders to off-takers, while average wet-season rice yields increased from 1.5 to 4.5 tonnes per hectare. The programme has also created 11,890 permanent jobs.
He urged IFAD to strengthen financing and country-led programmes while measuring success through improved farmer incomes, reduced post-harvest losses and sustainable rural employment.
While they are busy shouting, 'Let’s see who will campaign for Tinubu,' thousands of Adamawa-Yola youths and women shut down the streets for the 'Tinubu Must Go Again Rally' in Atiku's hometown. 😂😂
