@americanamemes For @sweetfin to continue saying this in the public is not right. no proof has been provided to us showing the landlords told them in writing any of what they r saying.
@sweetfin could have asked us if it was true, they knew where to find us. they did not.
@americanamemes We "officially" found out @Sweetfin was moving in the day they received the keys from the landlord. There was never courtesy call prior to this that they were moving forward. There were never any discussions about us changing our concept or agreeing to lease it to someone else.
@americanamemes They came back at @ $20k. We told them we would not sell our business for pennies on the dollar. And we told them in an email if they could not find another location in the area, they could always come back to us. They never did.
@americanamemes We spoke with our advisors and told them we would sell for $150k. We had 7 yrs left on our pre-negotiated lease with 2 5yr options, + invested a significant money replacing everything in the space. We had also been operating for 3yrs in the space which meant built in customers.
@americanamemes After they reached out again, we spoke with Seth Cohen, the co-founder @sweetfin. And we decided to meet with them. We showed the space to him and his business partner. They told us they were interested and we told them we would have to discuss it further as we were not 4 sale.
@americanamemes Due to this, we cannot comment other than facts. @Sweetfin approached us in jun via an unsolicited email to our general email about our interest in a sublease. We ignored their initial outreach b/c we were not for sale.
@americanamemes Thank u for the support everyone is showing us. We r @redmaplecafe, owners of Corner Poke. We r currently in a lawsuit against our landlord due to the events that transpired last Aug when they decided to rent the adjoining space surrounding our 3+ yr poke business to @sweetfin.
@sweetfin@StephenSeanFord@nateztweetz @Sweeetfin stop putting our false lies. Yes we closed during Covid like many others and reopened in June. We have the receipts to prove it.
@StephenSeanFord@sweetfin is telling people the landlord misguided us. Untrue. @Sweetfin emailed us in June to see if we were interested in subleasing our space to them. We met with them and they offered us $20,000. We said no. days later our landlord called to tell us they rented the space.
