Divisiveness has been there all along. It’s been from poor policies on a federal level and my family has been trying to separate since 1980 with the western Canada concept. We finally had traction with Preston Manning, but then the progressive conservative party came begging on their knees so that their party status would not be eliminated because they got so roundly defeated.

Most Albertans probably don’t know this.

Ottawa still has a Pierre Trudeau-era power on the books that Ottawa can use to impose an export charge of up to $55.65 per barrel on Alberta oil shipped to the United States.

Section 5 of the Energy Administration Act allows Prime Minister Carney to impose the export tax on Alberta by Order in Council, and specifically allows him to vary it based on where the oil comes from and where it is going.

No new Act of Parliament is required.

With Canada-U.S. trade tensions rising, Ottawa has too much power over Alberta’s most important export.

Voting Option 2 in October is how Albertan’s gain control over our destiny!!

Something to think about.

CArney just announced a major hydro-electric project in Quebec. Ottawa is set to invest $20 billion.

Albertans will be paying a huge chuck of that. Once built, the power from that project won't be included in Quebec's equalization determination formula.

Albertans will be paying twice. Once for the project, and again (many times) for the equalization.

Alberta has to include its oil when determining its fiscal capacity, but Quebec doesn't have to include its hydro power.
