It's been *years* since I've really animated anything for myself & I've really slid into generalist/solo-game-developer-land lately, but this was the last thing I did and I'm still p happy with it!
Would love to do more little snippits like this in the future 🙂 #animation

Across the Spider-Verse animators say Phil Lord drove them crazy with relentless revision, seeming unfamiliarity with 3D anim, 6 months of indecision and demands to redo finished work 5X. They say no way is Beyond the Spider-Verse coming out in 2024. By me https://t.co/v22KMkkEPh
As a visdev artist, I focused on character paint for #acrossthespiderverse My second assignment was to paint the main dude, Miles. This was my crash course on the Spiderverse style, while trying to keep it graphic and fresh. We went lots of rounds for a couple months on this.
Back in 2017, while working in China, I developed this personal animation after work for a month to apply to Sony, not knowing they were working on spidervers. Luckily, it worked. 🕷️
it's Deadpool rigs and modify to poor Spidey texture🤣

the juxtaposition on my timeline of the joy and artistry for across the spider-verse vs the pain of comics artists coming forward about how the industry exploits them, and knowing that that beautiful movie could not exist without people in comics who are not getting their due
What happened to:
"Artists won't lose their jobs"
"This tool exists to help artists"
"You should learn how to use AI to stay competitive"
"Artists and AI go hand in hand"
And yet here we are, AI "art" once again putting people out of work.
