I am a YC founder and I raised $2.5M
But here’s the reality:
- I have the salary of a junior coder in SF
- I share a 2BD apartment with a friend to pay less
- I pay for health insurance myself
- I don't have a fancy office with a city view
- I don't have a car
Raising money doesn’t make a founder a millionaire.
It only means that he took on a huge responsibility and has to spend the next 5-10 years working hard to have a small chance to build something successful.
Excited to share Thoughtflow, our new Mac app for multi-thread conversations with Ollama and other GPT APIs! 💬 Check out this demo where I chat about hobbies and... bananas? 🍌😄 #AIChat #MacApp #Thoughtflow
@RomainDerrien Hey thanks for the shoutout. Currently Ollama to use locally, and gpt-3.5-turbo for OpenAI. Model selection and other backends like Claude in the works.
There are loads of insight you can take from AppStore listings. But it's pretty hard to get them in a useful manner. We created a small tool to help app developers, product mangers compare their app against the competitors from user reviews.

Claude 3.5 Sonnet is intriguing...
Here I asked it to code this with pattern matching in Dart. But it also suggested I use a simpler method using tuples.
Claude 3.5 fails in subtle ways. Here I asked for instructions to set up flutter_secure_storage package on MacOS.
Here's where it gave an incorrect instruction. In fact, both step 5 and 6 are unnecessary and 6 incorrect.
We always knew that Chomsky was wrong about language models, it’s nice to have a paper showing you just how wrong he was! #ACL2024 best papsr. https://t.co/bpzRX10l8F
This is going to be legendary! The open source community at @huggingface will be pretraining GPT-Neo from scratch in Jax on @googlecloud TPU VMs with a goal to mimick the GitHub copilot
