My take on modding monetization is simple: we don't want to profit from modders' work. We also want modders to be able to make a good living from it so they can build businesses and create more content! It's a win for everyone, as long as we respect the players' experience so they have a great modding experience and bring their friends!

A mod with 100,000 players and 100 supporters beats a mod with 100 players and 100 sales every time.

My experience comes from running one of the largest modding teams for over 13 years. I know how hard and tricky it can be at times; the Hytale team is actually full of people coming from the modding scene, with over 90% of us! From Hypixel, Sodium, Create, Aeronautics, Voxy, and many more.
