If you continue to support K-pop unconditionally without boycotting the aggressive misogynistic attitudes of Korean men, the problem will not change. A new handsome male idol may emerge in the future, and you might end up liking him. However, the deep-rooted misogyny in Korean men won't change, and similar incidents will keep happening, leading to repeated disappointment.
I wish foreign K-pop fans understood the reality of what being a Korean man typically entails. Your favorite male idol might be handsome and talented, but that doesn't change the fact that he was educated and raised in Korea, just like any other Korean man. While not every man is the same, you can't simply assume that the idol you like is free from such issues or is somehow special. If you were to bring up issues related to misogyny in Korea with your favorite idol, you might find that he's not much different from the incels you see on Twitter.
kpop has never and will never be a safe space. They say times have changed, oh yeah well tell me how is it still so rampant both privately AND publicly tho.
Iโm getting a lot of traction, so please take a moment of your day to report this account for inciting harassment towards the korean women speaking up against the deep fake news, targeting women all across south korea, even middle schoolers.
