Boko Haram Att@ck on Borno Army Base Leaves Eight Soldiers De@d, Several Others Inj¥red
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly att@cked a Nigerian Army base along the Mandara–Buratai Road in Borno State, k+lling at least eight soldiers and inj¥ring several others.
According to military sources, the att@ck occurred around 4 a.m. on Friday during heavy rainfall, when the terr%rists allegedly stormed the position of the 162 Battalion.
A source at the base said, “They att@cked us at 4 a.m. today when it was raining. Eight soldiers were k+lled in action.”
Another military source claimed the att@ckers overran parts of the facility and carried out a brutal a+sa¥lt on troops stationed there, alleging that the slain soldiers were behe@ded while several others sustained inj¥ries.
The insurgents were said to have arrived in large numbers, reportedly taking advantage of the poor weather conditions to launch the surprise att@ck.
Following the incident, security sources said reinforcement troops had been deployed to the area, while efforts were ongoing to determine the full extent of casualties and assess the d@mage to the military position.
The att@ck comes amid renewed as+a¥lts by Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters on military formations across Nigeria’s North-East region, despite ongoing counterinsurgency operations by the military. Recent weeks have seen continued clashes between troops and insurgents in parts of Borno State.
As of the time of reporting, the Nigerian military had not issued an official statement on the incident.
Video: Nigeria Union of Teachers today held a solidarity rally in Ikeja, Lagos State, over the kidn@pping of school children and teachers in Oyo State.
I saw this video of a school using a kids' monitor to clock in the student.
Their parents will receive notifications when their child enters or leaves school.
This is impressive and a good initiative👏👏
My dear Nigerians, colleagues in the media, critics, and everyone who lent their voice during this difficult period, I sincerely thank you all.
To everyone who spoke concerning my release, prayed for me, and demanded fairness, I will never take your concern and solidarity for granted. And even to those who disagreed with me or questioned my actions, I still appreciate your voices because democracy gives room for different opinions.
I also want to say clearly that my desire has never been to bring down any institution or create division. I respect the sacrifices of the men and women serving this country, just as I remain committed to speaking for ordinary Nigerians who dream of a better nation.
Since the matter is still before the court, I will avoid making statements that may interfere with the legal process. However, I remain confident in the rule of law and due process.
At this moment, my focus is not bitterness, blame, or conflict. My focus remains the Nigeria we all deserve — a Nigeria that works for everyone, where justice is fair, opportunities are equal, and where the child of nobody can truly become somebody without knowing anybody.
This experience has only strengthened my belief that Nigeria must continue to grow through dialogue, understanding, accountability, and unity.
Thank you once again to everyone who stood up in one way or another.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬 Justice can't be cracked
