Question: Suppose you are creating an exhibit that has similar properties to an older one. Is there a way you can make you story sound less redundant or do you have to actually start from scratch?

Serrell, ch. 2: Everyone has said that it is always good to make sure your exhibit tells a story and it is true. It could also be used as a way to teach history as well.

Serrell, Ch. 1: I have always found trying to come up with the big idea to be the most challenging and Serrell makes it sound so easy.

McKenna-Cress, Ch. 8: Everyone has ideas about how to create an exhibit and McKenna-Cress explains that every idea is a good idea, even the ones that are questionable. If you have an idea, share it with the group and use it to build on other ideas.

McKenna-Cress Ch. 7: I am glad McKenna-Cress included this section in her book. I wondered how curators and teams were able to find funding for their projects. It is a step I believe not a lot of people think about.
#hist582#Question#March2021
Do the curators actually get to determine how their exhibit will look like or do they have to follow the museum guidelines?
#hist582#Caputo#March2021
Caputo: Reading these chapters was almost like a beginner's guide of how to use words, colors, and text properly in an exhibit. I had no idea that there were so many rules that one had to follow, like which texts to use or how to organize words.

McKenna-Cress Chapter 6: This chapter was a real help in laying out how to put an exhibit together. What this chapter includes is the necessary requirements to hook the audience and uses various examples like zoos, natural history, and science.
#hist582#Question#reedrichards
How can museums create digital exhibits and make them available to those who don't have internet access? Or to areas that don't have electricity?
#hist582#Killian#Pintrest
Killian: Killian has shown us what museum curators are using during times of quarantine. This gives us the idea of how we can better focus on how to spread information to the masses virtually.
#hist582#Ch5#McKennaCress
Ch 5: This insightful chapter has given me a better perspective of how museum curators create a dialogue with visitors so as to learn what they can improve upon in their exhibits. This section also helped me find how to create a functional exhibit.
@madabs2 I believe that history is full of happy and horrific times and there is no real way to teach others without the other. People must be aware of what happened in the past to ensure it never happens again, as well as learn how those periods in history are still effecting the world.

Agnes Pal Collection Images: We generally look at art for enjoyment and tend not to read how the artist became inspired. It is important that art museums try to highlight the artists motivation and what inspired them to do their piece of art.
#hist582#Art#collection
Agnes Pal Collection Descriptions: One can learn from Agnes Pal's artwork that despite the pain and suffering, people can overcome those feelings and use it in their works (art, writing, movies, etc.) to show others their struggles and inspiration.

Barbed Memory: This paper may tell what happened to Agnes Pal's family, but it gives us a closer look at why her people were targets for the Nazi Party and how her people survived the atrocities. It is a story of survival, rather than just death.
#hist582#AgnesPal#Holocaust
Agnes Pal Autobiography-Pal's account of her family's trials are one of many that are recorded and displayed in Holocaust Museums. This sort of document helps remind us how are dark that period in History was in hopes that it will never happen again
@Reese45658082 I would rather focus on artifacts. I feel that you would get more hands-on experience by working with artifacts or more specifically handling objects. You would be able to look and observe small details that others would possibly miss. #hist582#artifacts#question
