I love how this scene shows how Mojamussa is staying true to Park Haeyoung writing style where she always prioritizes the theme over a mere clichรฉs. Instead of giving us a crash scene to trigger a confession or a hug between the leads, this moment stays focused on Dongman's battle with himself
He managed to prove that he is not a monster, in order to prove he isn't as heartless as everyone painted him to be, he doesn't need a Eunah to be his savior and it was a brilliant subversion of the woman-as-savior trope
It's also adding depth into Eunah role in his life, where she isn't just being used as a tool for him to be accepted in the society but as someone who witness his growth. By walking away, Dongman ensures that their connection isn't built on his need to feel worthy, but on a genuine one where she doesn't need to carry the burden of fixing him
