Sometimes the loudest confession of guilt is the name you can't bring yourself to say.
There's a particular kind of shame in being unable to even utter the name of someone you've wronged. Because acknowledging them means acknowledging what you've done to them.
Consideration is recognizing that your choices affect people beyond yourself. Honesty is understanding that what you choose to withhold can be just as damaging as what you say. You cannot spend years building something with another person, benefiting from their loyalty, love, and unwavering support, only to speak of its ending without even acknowledging the person who stood beside you.
Everyone has every right to make their own decisions and pursue their own happiness, but that doesn't absolve you of accountability for how you handle them.
Respect, care, and basic consideration shouldn't disappear just because a partnership is ending. It was never just about you.
