Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn is one of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
The temple is named after Aruna, the Hindu god of dawn, and is stunning during sunrise and sunset.

What is the first thing when you see from the photo below?
For me, it looked like a dragon heading towards me.

The Nandi Statue in Lepakshi, India, is a magnificent sight to see. This monolithic sculpture, crafted from a single block of granite, portrays Nandi, the sacred bull and mount of Lord Shiva.
The Hooded Serpent at Veerabhadra Temple in Lepakshi is a mesmerizing and iconic architectural feature, depicting a striking serpent with a raised hood, carved from stone.

WTF – Entitled SEOs think they DESERVE traffic?!
Boo hoo, you’ve lost traffic. 😭😭 Your niche site got a ‘kick in the dick’ (@emilshour for that quip 😂).
Chances are… your site deserved it.
Some of our sites got DROPKICKED – looking at it from a user’s perspective, I can see why!
There was a thread somewhere of some travel blog girl gurning her site got smashed and how her life has been wasted....😭😭
Get over it! YOU KNOW the risk of running a site if you rely on organic traffic via Google!
It’s like having sex – you know the consequences. It’s great (or average depending on your choice of partner) but in 6 months you might get a phone call saying “you're going to be a dad”….
Putting that into context. You know the risk with Google – it can love you for a period of time and the next, give you the biggest kick into touch.
Gotta LOVE it when it works. But, when it doesn’t …. “BUT I PRODUCE GREAT CONTENT”.
Put your big boy pants on. Stop blaming Google. Stop blaming @johnmu and every man and their dog.
The “niche site” community has done extremely well over the past few years in spinning out POOR content (even before AI) for informational and commercial keywords.
To be fair... if it works, rinse it until it doesn't work!
Google is targeting niche sites. It’s obvious. There are niche sites out there with total garbage content and some of mine is included in case you think I'm perfect...
The sad reality is, when I’m the user and searching on Google for something, I can easily tell…. this is definitely a niche site.
They have these common traits….
1. Poor user interface
Standard ass theme, a blogroll on the homepage in most cases, and ads on every page, if you are using Ezoic – dial the ads down, poorly interlinked, and the site looks like a site made to rank, with no one behind it.
2. Either the introduction is an article or the introduction is stuffing the target keyword everywhere
The introduction will be stuffed with the exact match keyword in the introduction to the point where it actually MAKES NO SENSE.
You only have to use the target keyword ONCE in the first paragraph to tell Google this is what this article is about. Arguably, the H1 can do a lot of that heavy work, but the first paragraph gives a further indication.
Say the article is ‘Can I rent a house and rent it to someone else’, it’ll be some shitty introduction like this:
Learn all about: Can I rent a house and rent it to someone else? Subletting offers opportunities for generating additional income and making the most out of your property investment. In this article, we will explore the legalities, financial considerations, and practicalities of when you can rent a house and rent it to someone else.
I shit you not – I have seen stuff like that. Could you make it seem any more obvious you are overplaying the keyword?
And get this, if the introduction is shit, chances are the rest of your article is SHIT.
@Jamie_IF has a Spearframe course for making great introductions that work!
3. Content is literally made in mind for a robot, so it reads like one
As I said above. The introduction is shit and the main content is drivel targeting keywords.
4. No originality to it whatsoever
Boring, boring, boring standard content which is basically rewritten.
Why would Google rank it, if the content offers nothing new that the top 10 already has? Oh, ya, you just deserve it.
A lot of niche site owners don’t even bloody like the topic they are trying to portray as 'an expert' on...
They are running a site because of a Flippa listing sold for $50k and thought, yeah, I want in on that topic. But, you know damn all about yoga mats!
Since you know nothing about yoga mats, what the hell can you add that is truly unique and some form of thought leadership on yoga damn mats.
5. A clear pattern of only targeting long tail keywords
In your sitemap, if you only have content that is targeting ‘low hanging fruit’ which is usually long tail keywords. Then, you stand out even more.
You should be trying to rank for bigger stuff. But, yeah, look, it’s a niche site – you just want quick easy wins to make money, because that’s the sole purpose of the site.
Now. There are some sites and I mean SOME that have been unfairly dragged into it.
I would imagine there are dead pages on their site that are better off deleted that’s pulling them down – @Kasra_Dash
has a video on deleting sh!t content and @jaredbauman
has been banging on about deleting crap content for some time TBF!
Niche sites have been brushed by Google with a SOLE PURPOSE of existing to rank, get traffic, and make money from ads or affiliates.
There is no other purpose.
Google can easily track if your users are returning to your site via direct traffic, purposely going to Google to search for your brand, and how many users are visiting your site via Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, etc.
These are signals that you are not just existing to RANK.
Take this whatever way you want, I don’t give a shit.
But you DO NOT deserve traffic just because you have what you think is a great article, optimised to rank, and spent 50 hours a week working on your site.
I hope the Helpful Content Update does a full reverse because ranking this shit is a hell of a lot easier than actually producing great content with actual experience with the topic.
But, I can’t see that happening.
There are guys out there crushing it now even more, some of my e-commerce stores are running riot now – thanks big G!
If you want to know what to do with a site. MAKE IT A BRAND. Look at what @EllardKing has been building. I don't want to put words in his mouth, but he is building content for the user first and spending hours before hitting publish!
A side note to all of this: this update is nowhere near as bad as Google Panda or Penguin.
