Just a few days ago, we celebrated Children's Day.

We shared messages about hope, dreams, education, and the future every child deserves.

Yet, for dozens of children and their teachers in Oyo State, those conversations feel painfully distant.

Children should be able to go to school without fear. Teachers should be able to do their jobs without risking their lives. A classroom should be a place of learning, safety, and opportunity, not uncertainty.

As we reflect on this heartbreaking incident, we remember that protecting children's right to education also means protecting their right to safety.

Every child deserves both.
