REPORT: There were no vehicles traveling on the Francis Scott Key Bridge when it fell into the ocean thanks to heroic police officers who jumped into action.
It has now been confirmed that the only people on the bridge when it collapsed was a pothole repair crew.
A total of eight workers were reportedly on a meal break when the cargo ship crashed into the bridge.
The eight workers plunged off the 185-foot bridge into the frigid water.
Two of the eight workers were rescued, one who was hospitalized and one who refused treatment.
"He brushed his clothes off and wanted to see his family. He was shaken up a little bit but nothing major. I guess the good lord was on his side," a first responder said.
The six other workers are presumed dead.

Everyone wants to live in a peaceful world, but it’s necessary to understand that what destroys peace is anger and hatred. This is why the long term goal is to create inner peace within individuals, so contributing to a more compassionate humanity.

Abby has been teaching her 3rd grade class about the water crisis for years. Since 2014, her students have raised over $24,000 for clean water! A few weeks ago, they served up bright glasses of lemonade to raise an additional $300 in just two hours. Incredible!
We can always count on our friends at @smilegen. This year, 855 dental offices and support teams worked together to crush their $500,000 goal, raising enough to fund clean water for more than 16,500 people in Ethiopia! Incredible. See their impact at https://t.co/35OBPuYmJr.
Transparency has always been important to us—and we know it's important to you, too. It’s why we began with the bold promise we still live by today: 100% of all public donations bring clean water to people in need. Watch The Spring film to learn more: https://t.co/WvSmuhthr2

@anthonyLfisher@mcuban I will continue, soberly, with joy in my heart, to stand with respect whenever I hear the Star Spangled Banner, and reflect on my pride as an American. It is not unlike a prayer for me.
I have shed tears many times, since I was a child, over hearing this song.

@anthonyLfisher@mcuban My favorite part of Super Bowl is standing with my fellow Americans, with my hand over my heart, and listening to the anthem. I feel so at one with my country, because I know how many people are watching the Super Bowl.

@anthonyLfisher@mcuban I cannot disagree more! If people concentrate on what being an American means to them during the national anthem, or reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, it is definitely not an empty gesture, if one chooses it not to be.
