John Calipari was asked about Hunter Yurachek during his SEC Media Days appearance. Here's his full quote:
"The best thing for this program: we're not in debt. Now, there are not many programs around the country that can say they're not in debt. We're not in debt. He's been great for me. Part of the reason I took the job is, I sat down with him and I was comfortable. Everything he said he would do, he did. I'm looking around the room, saying, 'What? Are we losing our minds here?'
"He has kept us to where we can now figure out how we're going to go forward. But I understand you got ADs being fired around the country. You know why? Because their programs are in debt: 200 million, 100 million, 150 million, and so they're firing ADs now, but he's going to do fine. I wish we'd have won that football game for our football players, our coach, and Hunter. But you don't know what's in the cards. I just know he's a good man." #WPS
Dodgers player Alex Call is calling out MLB and broadcasters over the ads during postseason games.
"Can we please get the soft porn ads off playoff broadcasts? My son wants to watch baseball with Dada, but how do I justify that when a half-naked woman could come on screen anytime?? This is America’s Pastime. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about this."
Just mentioned this on the show: Andre Pallante is the 1st #STLCards starter to throw at least 150 innings with a sub-3.7 ERA since Jack Flaherty did so in 2019.
The Brewers, meanwhile, have had 10 individual seasons meet that criteria from 2021-2026.
That's the gap to close.
Not really concerned about the final score today, Arkansas at least looks like an actual football team today. Lots of small improvements over last week.
Credit to Silverfield for not letting the wheels fall off completely yet. #FireHunterYurachek
I can’t imagine what a college sports fan is going through with all this chaos. I know how challenging it is to be a coach and a player. Everyone knows my stance on the bipartisan PCSA bill in Congress. It’s not perfect, and there are things I don’t like about it, but it’s desperately needed to protect young American athletes and will solve the problems that now threaten the future of college sports.
We’re all tired of eligibility lawsuits in different states, different rules and different outcomes. The PCSA will solve that problem once and for all.
Under the PCSA, eligibility disputes would be adjudicated in federal court – not a hometown state court – and we would get protections and fairness for American 17, 18, 19 year old kids and double the amount of direct rev share payments from schools, which includes retention money.
One national standard. No thumb on the scale. Players First!
Today the #Brewers reportedly acquired RHP Dustin May ($5.2M surplus trade value) and LHP JoJo Romero ($1.5M) from the #STLCards in exchange for OFs Alexander Frias ($23.1M) and Josiah Ragsdale ($4.5M).
The deal is rejected by our model as an overpay by Milwaukee.
Sorsby bet on games in which he was an active player in and he will start at QB for Texas Tech this year. College sports is officially a joke and it’s sad. #ncaalostcontrol
