A horse can spend up to 16 hours a day chewing hay, pretty much its entire life. One bite of banana just taught its brain that the hay is kind of garbage.
That's barely an exaggeration. Grass hay is only about 5 to 11% sugar. Pull the water out of a banana and it's close to half sugar. For a horse, that's like eating plain rice cakes every day of your life and then somebody hands you a donut.
That little freeze is the horse's brain going "wait, what?"
A neuroscientist named Wolfram Schultz figured out what happens in there back in the '90s. He recorded individual dopamine cells in monkeys while giving them drops of juice. When the juice was a surprise, those cells lit up. Once the monkeys got used to it and started expecting it, the cells barely reacted. And when the juice they were expecting didn't show up, the cells dropped below normal.
So dopamine works more like a surprise alarm. It fires when the world turns out better than your brain predicted, and then your brain quietly raises its expectations to match.
That reset is bad news for the horse.
Back in 1928, a psychologist named Otto Tinklepaugh ran a kind of mean experiment on monkeys. He let them watch him hide a piece of banana under a cup, then swapped it for lettuce when they weren't looking. These monkeys normally ate lettuce no problem. They flipped the cup, looked all over the place for the banana, and wouldn't touch the lettuce.
Rats do it too. In 1942 Leo Crespi got rats used to a big reward and then cut it down to a small one, and they ran slower than rats who'd only ever gotten the small one. Later studies with sugar water found the same thing. Drop a rat from sweet water to weaker water and it drinks less than a rat that never knew the sweet stuff existed, starting the very first day. Psychologists call it successive negative contrast, which is a fancy way of saying once you know better, the regular stuff gets harder to enjoy.
A banana weighs about a quarter pound. A horse eats something like 20 pounds of hay a day, and all that research says the quarter pound just made the other 20 a little less worth eating.
If you've ever flown lie-flat once and then gone back to a middle seat, you know exactly what this horse is having for dinner tonight.
Sometimes when you’re equipped with so many information n knowledge you tend to see yourself as different and kinda judge (both consciously and subconsciously) people based on the stage you are
Life’s not always like that, there’s difference between lazy (and not getting result) and enthusiastic (and unfortunate)
The lazy person I have nothing to say bout
While the enthusiastic person I have a lot
You might be working on something thinking you doing the right but not knowing you need to add one last piece to make it boom! Once you’re not equipped with an update you can’t formulate it from your head but once you’re you should pursue and try to conquer
The number one thing that derails the pursuit is this country, people don’t find it easy to navigate because of the state of this country, ordinary to eat is difficult
I can't even afford class cloth for my FYB
I didn’t enjoy my time in school. My basic needs weren’t met. I was just surviving every day, struggling to keep a 2.4 CGPA
Being the first son added a pressure that was draining me quietly.
But I'm still here, still standing.
“I will vote for Tinubu. I want him to complete his tenure because we are suffering. This administration is a bad administration. Let us be sincere and factual: we are suffering. Since morning, some people have not even had a square meal. People are suffering. That is the basic truth.”

My younger brother who plays for a team in Abuja was telling me about a team mate that he had, they were born in Sweden but after his father had retired, he moved his family to Nigeria.
Now they have stayed in Nigeria for two years and his father had gotten ill, and everything seemed to be working against him. So the father's siblings who also live in Sweden had forced him to come back with his family.
They contributed money and the family moved back to Sweden.
My brother told me that yesterday when they had went for training, their coach informed them that the boy had joined a second division club in Sweden.
The boy is 19, I have seen him play and the way he plays, you simply know that something is different about how he plays but he had gone to several trials in Nigeria with NPFL sides and everytime he was not picked.
In Sweden, he had joined his old team to train for a couple weeks and his coach has spoken to a second division club sporting director, he was invited for a trial and he aced their trial.
He got signed and he is being told that if he does well this season, he will move to the Allsvenskan.
Geography is destiny.
A guy that drinks and a guy that doesn't drink, were asked what influenced their position with alcohol.
1st guy: My father was a drunkard. I looked at him and knew I didn't want that for me.
2nd guy: My father drinks so I naturally took after him.
A polygamous man and a monogamous man were asked why they took that path.
Poly: My dad was polygamous. I didn't want that for me.
Mono: My dad was polygamous.
Do you understand where I am going now?

Your parents having a beautiful/toxic relationship does not guarantee you'll have one too. Being loved at home or not, will not determine the fate of your relationship. You'll have to decide for yourself what kind of relationship you want for yourself inspite of the home you grew up in. You can use your environment as a lesson or an example. The choice is yours. You accept the love you think you deserve.
This also applies to how you raise kids. You can decide to copy your environment because you like how you were raised or disregard it because you loathe it. It is always a choice. Environment gives exposure but you are solely responsible for your choices.
