Day after observations from our first Big12 game and the trip to Manhattan, KS:

1. Enough people have posted about the game play and how it was winnable and it was so enough of that and we #ChargeOn to Baylor
2. I heard the term Mid West Nice prior to coming but didn’t know what it really meant. OMG. I have never seen nicer people in my whole life. If there was a drinking game every time someone came up to us and said “Welcome to Manhattan” or “ Welcome to the Big12, we are happy you are here” I would be drunk so quickly. These are the nicest people I have ever met in my life. It really raises the bar on how to treat the “away” fans when they travel.
3. The Wambash Cannonball “dance” that the student section does is a sight to be seen. Also seeing the student section behind the away team bench is different for me. I am not sure how many other schools do that.
4. The in stadium contest of corn eating and the tractors pregame shuttling fans to the stadium all reminds you, that you are in Kansas.
5. The fans, the traditions were really cool to watch and I had to keep reminding myself that KSU is 100 years older than UCF.
6. Aggieville, which is their downtown bar/restaurant district is really cool and the KSU Band doing a music pub crawl the night before was highly entertaining. How they fit 20 band members into these small bars and played was something.
7. The stadium concession stand line and bathroom line was never more than a few minutes. Even with a sell out capacity of 50K+ and at halftime, they knew what they were doing. Impressive. UCF’s is embarrassing at halftime.

Overall I would come back. No one was mean. Now it’s time to drive back to Kansas City to fly home and return to people not as nice.
