Ok. I would have to agree with this.

And I have always wondered why we try so hard to fit in. Why we try so hard to say: Look, see, we have some type of development.

I mean, who cares?

You think real investors and business people need: The Africa they don't show you videos, to make investment? You think they don't know? Who are you trying to impress? They don't care anyways.

Also, the architecture across Africa is un-African.

Brick houses with small windows, huge and big curtains with little or no ventilation. Why?

How is it that our architects can't design structures using indigenous models? And why do we think skyscrapers are what defines a prosperous city?

This is partly why I am happy with Abuja's masterplan that restricts high rise buildings and sky scrapers.

Abuja was planned as a low to medium rise, spacious, green capital city that prioritizes order, wide boulevards and harmony with the landscapes and nature.
Avoiding the dense, towering skylines of cities like New York.

Even though Abuja's masterplan hasn't been well followed, it's a good model for an African city.

I'll prefer a well developed Abuja to let's say, Tokyo or New York.
