I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games.
26 times I have been trusted to take the game's winning shot and missed.
I have failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.
—Michael Jordan
The original melody of "Lambada" is from 1981, by the Bolivian band Los Kjarkas with the song Llorando se fue. Kaoma took the dance version in Portuguese of the Brazilian Márcia Ferreira ("Chorando Se Foi," 1986) and re-recorded without giving credit to the original composers.
The track was a worldwide success: it sold over 5 million copies in 1989 alone, spent 12 weeks at #1 in France, #4 in the UK and entered the charts of over 15 countries. Then came the lawsuit: Los Kjarkas sued, won in French court and received credits and royalties.
“Don’t leave nothing for later.
Later, the coffee gets cold.
Later, you lose interest.
Later, the day turns into night.
Later, open doors close.
Later, people grow up.
Later, people grow old.
Later, life goes by.
Later, you regret not doing something.
And you had the chance.”
