My deepest condolences to the family of Henry Nowak.

I’ve thought about his passing a lot this week.

Henry may have passed in Southampton but he lived in Thurrock. He went to the same academy trust as my children. His grieving family are a stones throw away.

To my mind, there is no debate on the topic of carrying ceremonial knives. Allowing some people to carry a knife is absurd in the extreme.

The fact we have decision makers in our establishments that have allowed this because they are more concerned with cultural sensitivity than basic common sense is infuriating, and here we see the tragic results. Another life lost, senselessly taken in the most unnecessary of circumstances.
