Tampa refugees rejected by Australia and instead resettled in New Zealand are now small business owners, home owners, doctors, nurses, public servants, students and keen rugby players. And, now, Fullbright scholarship winners. https://t.co/NgCAgmkDLN

The journey of refugees from exile to belonging is abridged through healing

[Refugee Trauma Recovery in Resettlement Conference @RefugeeTRIRConf]

CEO of @STARTTSNSW, Jorge Aroche, reminded us that healing isn't dependent on torture and trauma services. The resilience of survivors is remarkable, and the FASSTT agencies help to augment existing resilience.

Hearing the lived experiences of teenagers in last nights screening of 'How I became a Refugee' was powerful! No doubt important lessons for the younger generations.
Thank you Dr Metta, Deena, panel and organisers @BaysideNSW, AdvDiv Services, SydMCS #withrefugees

Beautiful poem @JudyMannix highlighting the differing viewpoints. Also poetic that they start from the bottom - no doubt reads better that way https://t.co/KamqAZqmM7
