There are different types of warnings in the fight game. As the referee you can decide which type of warning you feel is appropriate based upon the infraction. What Marc did is called a Hard warning. No points deducted but felt the infraction was enough to take the position away

Part of being a referee that has done thousands of fights for over 15 years is educating the fighters AND the public. I haven’t done 10,000 fights like Greg Franklin, but anytime I’m in the cage, both fighters certainly know that I am there. #UFCCalgary
