The Hill reports that numerous organizations are planning massive demonstrations this Saturday to counter the absurd military parade that Trump is throwing for his birthday.

The groups No Kings and 50501 are working together to build up protests in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

“They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services. The corruption has gone too far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings,” the organizers stated.

Wisely, they will be holding their protests away from D.C. so that Trump won’t have an easy excuse to incite state violence. He has already threatened to use a “very big force” against anyone who disrupts his North Korea-style parade.

“Instead of allowing this birthday parade to be the center of gravity, we will make action everywhere else the story of America that day: people coming together in communities across the country to reject strongman politics and corruption,” the group said.

“For that reason, NO KINGS is not hosting an event in Washington, D.C. We will instead have a major flagship march and rally in Philadelphia to draw a clear contrast between our people-powered movement and the costly, wasteful, and un-American birthday parade in Washington,” they added.

There will also be protests in Texas where MAGA Governor Greg Abbott is foaming at the mouth to mimic his cult leader’s tough guy persona and deploy the National Guard. He has already stated a willingness to do so.

The fact that so many Republicans are eager to copy Trump’s authoritarian playbook just proves that we need these protests now more than ever!
