@simon_watkins@StarWhovian While I think of Doctor Who as a very, VERY left-wing production (the production office okayed the Doctor trashing Thatcher) the show itself is good at "this is an example of what not to be", but notable bad at "embodying" leftness. (Not for lack of trying, just bad at it.)
If someone starts a breakaway Power Rangers wiki that DOESN'T decide to put content on Category: pages like madmen, it will be the one I link to, even if the pages are empty.
Because that's some serial killer shit.
@Diamandahagan Watrching your recent headcanon Fodder -- I'm shocked that we seem to have essentially identical opinions about all of this.
Also, apparently the book 'DW: His Lives and Times' leans into something very similar to your view on War as a product of time-fuckery.
@SimonFurman3
Hey Simon, I'm a writer in the expanded Doctor Who universe (spinoffs of spinoffs) and was wondering… may I kindly have your permission to make a reference to Killatoa in one of my stories? (it would involve someone expressing admiration for his unique genetics.)
@trevorbaxendale Hmm, I'll track down Natalie's contact info.
Honestly, a fleeting reference is Fair Dealing as long as you avoid trademarks, but when writing independently I try to dot my Is and cross my Ts. If the rights CAN be cleared, I'll try!
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
@trevorbaxendale Hey Trever, I'm a writer in the expanded Whoniverse (currently attached to Arcbeatle.
I was wonderinf I could have permission to use the Alpha Continua robots from your DWA story 'Dawn of Time.'
I believe you do own the copyright on your DWA comics... 1/2
@Diamandahagan I am actually looking forward to more David Tennant. If we get a couple more years of Christmas stories with 14 before they relaunch the series, I’d be fine with that as long as they did somethign with the book range.
@Diamandahagan Series 2 felt like a retread. Mysterious old woman(s), CGI monster at the end. Like RTD was forced to cut one season in half but wanted to keep the same runners to he just did them twice.
@frombwtocolor@Diamandahagan I get where Moffat was going Re: Kate comes in and declares ‘Science Leads’, but thethe purpose of UNIT in stories is to fail or be antagonistic. When they’re military meatheads no one expects them to be smart. But with Kate raised the goalposts, that just makes her a failure.
@Diamandahagan River Song is extremely mid.
Peter Davidson had almost no good stories and even Big Finish has not been able to figure out how to do him right.
The Book of the Snowstorm was written by hacks.
Kill the Moon and In the Forest of the Night were both stories about the faerie.
Posting public proof-of-work for a client project.
'No AI' does not exist in 3d space; upscaling, frame interpolation, performance cpture -- they're all technically AI tools. In this case the guts of the thing were all human-made, and then cleaned up... 1/2
Photoshop, After Effects, ebsynth, performance capture, frame-tweening, upscaling, masking, even motion tracking are all techically 'AI' tools, but not the kind people mean when they say AI.
So enjoy these these Mat-ID layers used for tweaking the compositing on rendering passes.
