I've lost it all more than once after a big draw down like today. When you compare your current port to that of an hour or a day ago, it can feel incredibly overwhelming.

It is not within our nature to accept the fact that you're down 30-40-50 % of your net worth and not immediately try to remedy the problems, not try to do everything you can to make it back right now.

Believe me. I know.

I've ran down close to a million dollars to 0 before. It happens so quick. Years of work washed away in a couple of days, followed by months or even years of regret. I wish so badly that someone was there to tell me to step away for a week. Those days haunt me.

I will never make the same mistake, and if my shame and my words can help one person do the same, that's enough for me.

Please. Stop clicking - for a week.

Write down your goals, your thoughts. Step away. Go get get drunk. Spend time with friends and family. Get more drunk. Anything besides touching your portfolio. Reset.

Come back in 7 days, and do NOT compare your current port to that of a week ago. Take it one day at a time and stack wins slowly. Be patient.
