@bstockus I will miss you so much! Thank you for your service and leadership to students and teachers in @EMathRRISD . I know this is best for your family, but our @RRISD family is sad!
@heySiri_RRISD is an amazing math coach in @rrisd. I treasure your talents and respect your willingness to try things out and create cool math experiences for students and teachers. TY!

@thesuninseattle Blew their minds when I asked, "How many children participated in the art competition." That was in 2009 or so. From there, we wrote more and more and turned it into a routine. Teachers make up their own. @bstockus blogs about them and created lots to share.
@thesuninseattle Unveiling a bit more, there were 134 girls. There were debates going on about how many boys. Funny, I hadn't added the question. Most everyone in over 23 schools and classes in 3rd grade across RRISD wanted to know the number of boys.
@thesuninseattle Here's that problem..."Some boys and girls entered an art competition." That's the first of it anyways. Students reacted so unexpectedly saying there's no math here. I asked them what the noticed. An awesome discussion followed. I gradually added more details...15 fewer boys...
@thesuninseattle Hey there! Numberless Word Problems were birthed here in @RoundRockISD. I was an instructional coach and had to think on my feet quickly to find a way that a group of students would see beyond pulling out numbers and adding them up to solve every word problem they saw.
The @RoundRockISD Home Learning Hub is live. Two weeks of enrichment activities for students to engage with while we are closed. https://t.co/IM8E27orcm #rrisd1family#txed
I love how this lesson invites students to think deeply about the perimeter of rectangles. I especially appreciate that your facilitation of meaningful discourse allowed students to share and consider differing mathematical ideas. #ARRCPowered#RRISD3#ElemMathChat#rrmathrocks
