Cillian Murphy says he almost emailed John Krasinski just right after watching A Quiet Place — but “Chickened out,” worried it would look like he was lobbying for a role.
“I wrote this email to John saying how much I enjoyed the film… then I chickened out and never sent it. I was like, ‘He’s a busy man. He doesn’t need to hear from some actor.’”
A year later, while writing A Quiet Place Part II, Krasinski and Emily Blunt were binge watching Peaky Blinders and thought Murphy would be perfect.
“Oh my God, I’ve got to call Cillian Murphy. I’ve got to ask if he’ll do this.”
When Krasinski called him for the sequel, Murphy finally told him about the unsent email.
