Sermon Spoiler: 1 Cor 12:12-27 today we are reminded the family of faith is likened to a body - the many parts who are one, diverse and unique but working together in their various ways. I am grateful for a church where so many serve and have found ways to bless our community.
Sermon Spoiler: Mt 28 - the power of Easter is revealed in the One who comes gently and with salvation, not with a sword but through love and self sacrifice. In taking death upon Himself, He overcomes it through resurrection, victorious over the great enemy of creation and life.
Sermon Spoiler: Lk 19:28-44 - the Power of Easter begins on the slow ride into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey, where Jesus denies picking up the power of the world and of empire, forging instead a better path that leads to life.
Sermon Spoiler: Lk 22:14-34 outlines a difficult meal between Jesus and His disciples but one they’d return to again and again - not because it was strange but because they’d come to see that though they didn’t recognize it at the time, it was announcing good news for all.
@KiaCanada it’s been 11 weeks since my EV5 presale locked in and I haven’t received a single update. My dealership knows nothing either. Can I still expect it in Spring 2026? Is there any kind of update/timeline you can offer someone awaiting their vehicle?
Sermon Spoiler: Lk 19:1-10 “Today I must come to your house” becomes “Today salvation has come to this house” - with Jesus it is the same thing. Where He is invited in, He brings grace and there is life transformation. The story of Zacchaeus is the story of the Gospel
Sermon Spoiler: Lk 14:1-11 calls us to consider what story our lives tell - are we living into individualism, concerned only for our own advancement or, like Jesus, are we moving into the margins believing the place of humility is where God works for wholeness and life?
Sermon Spoiler: Lk 11:37-54 - it is dangerous business sitting at the table with Jesus. If we never hear Him confront inconsistencies between our inner and outer lives we may not be listening. His intention though is to set us free and to invite us into what is best.
Sermon Spoiler: Lk 7:36-50. At the heart of this story Jesus asks a simple question - “Do you see this woman?” Do you see? Of course we “see”, but often our focus is misplaced and we fail to see what God sees, missing the opportunity to experience grace, love and freedom in Jesus
Sermon Spoiler: Lk 5:26-32 the story of Levi reminds us that the invitation of Jesus is open to all, and that the only barrier to it is our refusal to accept it. Like Levi (and unlike the Pharisees) we are invited to let go of what was and take hold of the life Jesus offers us
I’m baffled that for 3 months @HyundaiCanada has refused to allow my dealership to order a car that they continue to promote online. It’s to the point that though I have 2 Hyundais in my driveway I may need to go to a different car company who will actually build my order
Sermon Spoiler: 1 Peter 2:4-12 When Jesus, the Living Stone, becomes our Cornerstone, He makes us living stones; bringing us from death to life, inviting us to be more like Him. What hardened or dying part of you do you need to bring to Jesus to be coaxed to life? He is willing.
Sermon Spoiler: 1 Peter 2:4, 6-8. Jesus is the Living Stone, truly alive and the source of life for us but He is also the Dividing Stone, one set before us to choose whether He will be our Cornerstone or be rejected and become a stumbling block we trip over.
Sermon Spoiler: the decision to follow Jesus is not something you simply do one time, rather it is the continuous, ongoing day by day decision to keep hearing Jesus say, “Come, follow Me” and then to do so with your entire life.
@bnicholsonsmith Schneider’s explanation makes no sense. He said he didn’t use Hoffman because he wanted that part of the their lineup to see different pitchers - only problem with that reasoning is 2 of the 3 (Polanco and Naylor) were the hitters Little faced in Game 1.
Sermon Spoiler: On a weekend when families gather around the table in thanksgiving, we’re reminded that the family of faith does so weekly in communion. We eat and drink in thankfulness for what Christ has done, reminded that He is with us and with hope of what He will yet do.
Sermon Spoiler: Christ crucified, Christ risen is Good News not only because my sins are forgiven but because it announces He is king, He is victorious and in Him the whole world will be set right. The Gospel you believe is the Gospel you will live out.
I really don’t love the new look of the @Sportsnet app. It’s no longer easy to find the content I’m looking for. I like a lot of what they do but not sure I want to dig this much to find it.
