@xmarioapps I’ve had someone from the Educational team reach out and help implement ClassKit. Talking with Apple folks is always worth it in my opinion
⚠️Massive drop in popularity in Apple Ads.
Apple Ads has been providing incorrect popularity data on thousands of keywords since early October. Many of these keywords, which previously showed higher popularity values, are now erroneously displaying a value of 5.
This issue does not only affect Astro, but all ASO tools on the market that extract their data from Apple Ads.
What we are doing
- We have blocked popularity updates on our systems, as Apple is providing incorrect data and it makes no sense to extract this information at the moment.
- We are monitoring the situation with automated tools so that we are ready to update the data in our database again as soon as the problem is resolved by Apple.
- We are restoring old backups to restore the popularity of as many keywords as possible.
- We are ready to launch a massive update of all keywords in our database as soon as Apple has resolved the issue.
- We will keep you updated on the situation via email and on X. To stay informed, make sure you follow Astro's official profile @tryastroapp.
What you should do
- Since the current data is incorrect, we advise you not to change your ASO strategy based on this information.
- Once the situation is resolved, we will send you an email explaining how to update your popularity on Astro so that you once again have a situation that reflects reality.
- Continue to use Astro as usual; the ranking information and keyword tracking are working correctly.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will update you as soon as we have more information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Matteo
The appeal of “ASO-based apps” is that I wouldn’t have to learn the intimidating field known as MARKETING to promote them outside the App Store.
Maybe I suck at finding low-competition keywords, or maybe it’s time to face the beast.
