At my age, I’ve lived through a hell of a lot of American history. The Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Bobby, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I watched what happened at Kent State, the taking of our hostages in Iran, the murders of my marine brother in Beirut and I remember the horror of 9/11.
I’ve watched this country go through riots, assassinations, wars, and some of the darkest days in our history.
And after witnessing all of that, I still raised my right hand, swore an oath, put on the uniform of a United States Marine, and served my country.
I didn’t serve this nation to watch its freedoms and Constitution be destroyed by religious extremism or communism.
I’ve seen too damn much, and I love this country too damn much to keep my mouth shut now.
And there’s a lot of us out here just like me
We wont let our country go down in flames like Europe.
Semper Fi.
To all you commie freaks for whom I've become such a headache...this is why I do this. This is my parents coming home to see everything they'd lost because of your stupid commie leaders.
Am I fucking up your little campaigns? Shouldn't have killed John Wick's dog.
I had a good life, raising my boys, feeding hummingbirds. You stupid communists defunded our fire department, never maintained the brush on your government property, and you gave $750K raises to the morons who drained our reservoirs during fire season.
Fuck. All. Of. You.
I will never stop until every last communist is expelled from polite society.
Jeremy Clarkson cannot sleep the night before his animals go to the abattoir. He has said so in print, and it is the most important thing the show has taught the public about farmers.
He cried on camera the first time he sent his lambs. It was worse with the cows, he wrote, and worse again with the pigs. He described the drive to the slaughterhouse as having "a hot cricket ball in the pit of my stomach". He kept two of his old sows back and found them a home on a children's farm, because he could not face it.
This is a man who spent thirty years being paid to seem as if he did not care about anything.
Every livestock farmer watching nodded. That feeling is the job. You are there when the animal is born, often with your arm inside its mother at three in the morning. You know it by sight. You keep it fed, dry and well for its whole life, and then you take it on its last journey yourself, because you would not trust anyone else to do it quietly.
People who have never done it call that hypocrisy. It is the opposite. It is the oldest honest bargain there is. The animal gets a good life it would never otherwise have had, and the farmer carries the weight of the ending.
The customer who buys a soya burger carries nothing. The field it came from was sprayed until nothing else lived in it, and nobody lost a night's sleep.
Farmers are accused of not caring about animals by people who have never once had to look their dinner in the eye.
Clever post by an anonymous author. 🙂
I keep hearing people complain that gasoline is over $4.00 a gallon. And yes, I'd love to see it at $2.00 again. But before we declare gasoline the most outrageously expensive liquid on Earth, let's put things in perspective.
For $4.00, I get a GALLON of gasoline. I pour it into a 4,000-pound machine, turn a key, and that gallon will haul me, the groceries, the golf clubs and half the junk in my trunk almost 30 miles down the highway.
That's actually a pretty impressive day's work for $4.00.
Now let's compare.
A restaurant sells me a 5-ounce glass of wine for $9. That's about $230 a gallon. And how far does it transport me?
Usually from the dinner table to the men’s room.
A fancy coffee shop can charge $6 for a 16-ounce latte. That's $48 a gallon. It doesn't transport me 30 miles. It transports me from "Leave me alone" to "Okay, now you may speak."
Bottled water at a convenience store might be $2.50 for 20 ounces. That's $16 a gallon, for something that occasionally falls out of the sky FOR FREE.
A 12-ounce energy drink at $3.50 works out to more than $37 a gallon. Apparently caffeine becomes a precious mineral once you put lightning bolts on the can.
Buy one of those little 2-ounce bottles of "energy shot" for $3. That's $192 a gallon. At that price, it shouldn't give me energy. It should mow my lawn.
Maple syrup at $8 for a 12-ounce bottle? About $85 a gallon. And its principal technological achievement is making pancakes sticky.
Vanilla extract at $6 for two ounces? That's $384 a gallon. For $384, I expect the vanilla bean to come to my house and bake the cookies.
Printer ink can cost thousands of dollars per gallon. And unlike gasoline, it sometimes refuses to come out because the printer has decided cyan is low.
Even that $9 glass of wine deserves another look. At roughly $230 a gallon, filling a typical 15-gallon gas tank with restaurant wine would cost about $3,450.
Of course, after drinking 15 gallons of wine, transportation would no longer be your biggest concern.
So yes, $4.00 gasoline is expensive.
But it's also a remarkable bargain when you think about what you're buying. You're purchasing enough concentrated energy to push several thousand pounds of steel, glass, groceries and humanity nearly 30 miles.
Meanwhile, we'll cheerfully pay $6 for coffee, $9 for wine and $3 for water, then stand at the gas pump staring at the numbers like we're watching the national debt clock.
Maybe gasoline doesn't need better pricing.
Maybe it just needs a fancier name.
"Handcrafted Premium Petroleum, locally pumped, small-batch refined, with subtle notes of octane and dinosaur."
Put it in a 12-ounce artisan bottle and charge $14.
We'll line up around the block.

This insane: California and China both started their High Speed Rail projects in 2008
- California hasn’t completed a single track
- China completed over 31,000 miles of track during the same time
Here’s where it gets really crazy, I did the math on how much California is spending compared to China
This is the cost per mile breakdown:
- China’s rail coeds about $30 million per mile
- California official Phase 1 spending is $255 million per mile
Read that again.
Gavin Newsom needs to go to prison, this is the biggest money laundering project in California history
FBI Director Kash Patel just dragged Democrat Senator Adam Schiff into the deep end and left him without his water wings.
Schiff thought he had found the perfect way to use Patel’s own words about the mainstream media against him.
Instead, Patel owned the statement and turned the entire exchange back on Schiff.
It got worse for Schiff from there.
By the end, Schiff was panicking as Patel was asking him one question after another about Russiagate and the illegal FISA warrants.
An absolutely embarrassing moment for Schiff.
SCHIFF: “I want to read you a statement you made about the press.”
“This was in 2024, when you said the mainstream was ’the most powerful enemy that the United States has ever seen.”
“Do you stand by that?”
PATEL: “Your colleagues put that on full display here today by…”
SCHIFF: “Do you stand by that?”
PATEL: “I’m answering the question! You Your colleagues put that on full display by hacking around the same lies and personal, baseless attacks. And that’s what makes the majority of the mainstream media…”
SCHIFF: “Excuse me, Mr. chairman, I don’t want to have to go over my time…so if you could answer the question.”
PATEL: “I’ve answered the question. That’s a great picture! You should post it.”
SCHIFF: “Do you stand by your statement?”
PATEL: “I always do.”
SCHIFF: “Is it your view, then, that the media is a greater enemy than Iran?”
PATEL: “That’s not what I said. I said the media that participates in lying, like you do, and the baseless attacks on me, my personnel and my loved ones, is the most harmful institution to the United States of America because you don’t want to tell the truth!”
SCHIFF: “By this mainstream media that you’re accusing of lying, are you talking about the New York Times? Are they part of the enemy?”
PATEL: “I’m talking about the ones that you said are still looking for…”
SCHIFF: “Are you talking about the New York Times?”
PATEL: “Aren’t you and them the ones that are still looking for Russian collusion?”
“Did you find Russian collusion?!”
“Is it in that envelope that you held up? Or….”
“Or what about those illegal FISA warrants when you and I were on the House Select Committee together?”
I need to make a very PUBLIC announcement on behalf of younger GenXers and older Millennials.
If you see someone in their 40s or 50s who seems a little boring now, I need you to understand something...
We already got it in.
Like...GOT. IT. IN.
We are not sitting home on a Friday night because we never knew how to have fun.
We are sitting home on a Friday night because we have seen enough.
We went to parties in houses that should have been condemned and were almost certainly owned by the local drug dealer.
We saw police lights and RAN and not across a nice, flat field.
INTO THE WOODS.
Do you understand the athleticism required to hurdle uprooted tree roots in platform shoes while simultaneously trying to keep your low-rise jeans from sliding completely off your ass?
And somehow...we never spilled the Zima. We never spilled the Boone’s Farm.
That was TALENT.
We slept on floors in strange houses because the designated driver either never showed up or, in a shocking turn of events, was drunker than everybody else.
There was no Uber, Life360 or Find My Friends.
There was just somebody named Mike saying, “I know a shortcut.”
And we FOLLOWED MIKE.
We closed down bars and then decided the night was still young, so we drove to Atlantic City, where we somehow managed to get drunk, sober up, get drunk again, sober up again and then get drunk a THIRD TIME before breakfast.
And according to our parents? We were at Michelle’s house.
Eating pizza and watching movies.
Michelle’s mother unknowingly covered for approximately 17 people every weekend. If there even was a Michelle.
We drank things called Purple Passion, Mad Dog 20/20 and whatever somebody mixed inside a giant plastic garbage can. Nobody asked what was in it. You grabbed a red Solo cup and trusted the process.
We went to clubs until the lights came on. Do you know the psychological damage of seeing a nightclub with the LIGHTS ON? Nothing good happens after those lights come on.
We danced for four straight hours in shoes that permanently altered the structure of our feet.
We made entire plans without cell phones...no texts, dropped pins or group chats...just an extremely questionable sense of direction.
We rode in cars with 11 people when the vehicle legally seated five. Someone was always sitting on someone. Someone was always in the hatchback.
And there was always one friend yelling, “DUCK!” when we passed a cop.
So yes...now we like being home.
We like sweatpants.
We like cancelling plans.
We like saying, “That sounds fun!” with absolutely no intention of attending.
We like restaurants at 5:30 because we can get a good table.
We like being home by 8:17.
And if someone texts at 9:30 PM and says, “What are you doing?”
Sleeping...we are sleeping.
Because this is not boring my friends...this is retirement.
We already played, partied and danced on the bar.
We already ran from the cops through a wooded area dressed like a Spice Girl.
We have stories that cannot be posted because there are still people with careers, marriages and reputations to protect. And thank GOD there were no camera phones.
So kids, when you look at your Gen X and older Millennial parents sitting peacefully on the couch watching Dateline at 8 PM and think:
“God, you guys are boring.”
Sweetheart...oh sweetheart.
You are looking at retired legends.
Put some respect on our names. We're probably the reason Life360 was invented.
xoxoxo (posted from someone else on FakeBook) 🤣 #genx #oldandtired
@Hot_Pepper76 Reportedly someone asked Jimi Hendrix, what it was like to be the greatest guitar player in the world. He said I don’t know ask Roy Clark!
