There’s been a lot of conversation online about the dress code policy at Tuskegee. But current students have been largely left out of the discourse.
So I talked with some of them:

@nhoodpublicist They weren’t. This was the university’s way of distracting people from the fact that they ran out of hosing for upperclassmen, and are forcing students to live 35 minutes away, in infested buildings. They didn’t want attention on that, and they know y’all eat up respectability.
Tuskegee doesnt have enough housing and is forcing upperclassmen to live 35 minutes away from campus in roach infested buildings. Clothing should be the last thing they are worried about.
Tuskegee University has implemented a new student dress code that bans bonnets, durags and bedroom shoes in classrooms, dining halls and official university events, along with stricter attendance and in‑class cell phone rules.
Many students and alumni have expressed frustration and disappointment, saying the policy feels like it polices Black protective styles and everyday clothing and questioning why an HBCU is restricting how they show up on their own campus.
Some observers see the rules as an attempt to prepare students for formal work environments, while others argue the changes overlook deeper concerns students have raised about campus conditions and support.
When it come out that Howard over enrolled and they realized last minute they didn’t have enough housing so they looked for kids with balances and kicked them out, imma remember how black people treated those kids for wanting a higher education.
Coppin State University President Anthony Jenkins implemented a program offering in-state tuition to students from states with no HBCUs
And instead of raising tuition to bring in more revenue, he slashed it hoping to draw more students. It’s working.

Mayo Clinic is being sued by its former AI compliance lead, who is alleging the hospital network tried to hide its AI tool’s 67% error rate at patients’ expense.
The lawsuit alleges staff deleted results and mischaracterized outcomes to cover up the AI tool’s mistakes. The former employee says Mayo fired her in retaliation when she tried to raise her concerns.

I’ll never like Robyn Dixon. I was on lipstick alley back when she was on there saying Gab Union was too dark to be saying Juan cause Juan was out cheating on her AGAIN having Gab at games touching wood and out in the streets w her. She’s a colorist and a loser and that’s true tea.
Envy will keep you out of your purpose. Because the amount of people angry that ONE family is moving their endowment to Howard. Rather than rant, you all could have come together and donated to every HBCU in North Carolina. But nope, you’re just internet critics.
@_social_twerker So then you wouldn’t be seething that the family chose to divert funds to a university he attended.
And feeling this strongly should mean you have a scholarship in your name, as many of us do. It takes as little as $1,000 and is much more productive than internet rants.
With this extreme heat wave, remembering my ancestors who were forced to work in these conditions.
They endured, and many did not survive. You all are not forgotten.
