I'm not usually one for the humble brag, but it is so cool to have our work at @CARA_NYC recognized by MacKenzie Scott. I'm inspired by how much she gives, who she gives to, and the trust she puts in those orgs ( tho we should still raise taxes on the rich 😉)
So honored to be one of the organizations funded by MacKenzie Scott this year & appreciative of her trust-based approach to philanthropy! https://t.co/9lGI6ajVxh

Some news! I’m thrilled to be joining the faculty at @UArkansas as an Assistant Professor of Higher Education in January 2023! ✨✨✨ I can’t wait to work with and learn from the terrific @uarkhied faculty, staff and students.
@SLitschwartz Hey Sophie, it's been a long time! The org I'm working, CARA, for wrote a brief on the challenges FAFSA completion. It's probably not quite what you're looking for, but worth checking out: https://t.co/jD5prdQGzl
I earned my PhD today by defending research that I’m really proud of. So grateful to @MSavitzRomer @RGGonzales1 and @tony_jack for being such a supportive committee!
Feels GOOD to be Dr. Bassett (as is evident in this pic lol) 🎉🎉🎉
@DrRivasDrake One summer I worked picking up pine cones in the forest in Oregon--these are the ones that get scented for holiday decorations. Every night I dreamed of pine cones, with an occasional hand picking one up

I'm usually a lurker on twitter but coming out from the shadows to say I started a new job as Senior Research & Policy Associate at CARA. Also, I just wrote my first piece about their (and others') work training & paying young ppl to increase college & career access in NYC!
@nadirahdixit I liked the approach of putting lots of books in but only assigning part of em. Lets be real about how much ppl are gonna read of them anyway 😂
