REI's 1st national labor movement est in 2015. Fueled by a passion to hold REI accountable to co-op principles & fair labor practices. #reiunionstrong @reiunion
IMPORTANT UPDATE: REI Greensboro will vote Union Yes TOMORROW, January 24th!!
Here’s why we - the REI Greensboro workers - are voting YES tomorrow to form a union at our store. We’re excited to have a seat at the table to negotiate consistent hours, living wages, fair pathways to cross training, transfers and full-time opportunities, and to uphold true co-op values.
One day longer, one day stronger! The REI SoHo ski shop techs are still out here on ULP strike, fighting for health and safety! Thanks to our @The_AFM union siblings for joining us on the picket line on Day 15 💪 Write an email to support workers: https://t.co/f6BsLc8FUa
🚨 ULP STRIKE RALLY 🚨
Let's show @REI that the NYC community stands with striking workers! Come rally with the ski shop techs of REI SoHo, who have been on ULP strike since Dec 4 over health and safety issues. Join us in front of REI, 303 Lafayette St on Fri, Dec 20 at 11 AM!
President Biden is the partner I need in the White House, now and for the next four years. We could not have delivered such enormous progress for Marylanders without his and Vice President Harris’ leadership and support. Together, we’ve created nearly 40,000 jobs, made historic investments in education, brought broadband across the state, and seen the most significant drop in crime in a generation. Our state is back on track with the help of President Biden.
When I was in the Army, I learned that it’s easy to stand by people when things are going well, but you learn about the mettle of a person when times are hard. I know Joe Biden’s resolve because I saw it first-hand when he stood by the people of Maryland every step of the way as we re-opened the Port of Baltimore faster than anyone thought possible following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
The contrast between candidates could not be more clear in this election. President Biden believes in Maryland’s promise. Donald Trump thinks Baltimore, my state’s largest city, is “a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.” Those are the stakes. I know President Biden has Maryland’s back, so I’ve got his.
Big news in the outdoor industry. Inspired by the union movement @REI Patagonia workers in Reno, Nev. become the first to unionize in the US. @reiunion#reiunionstrong
BREAKING: REI’s ninth store, and only store in Indiana, voted overwhelmingly to unionize. Another huge victory for the future of all workers at our co-op and a most spectacular send to @REI. Worker power in action. Go Green Vests!!! 🔥✊🔥 #reiunionstrong
On Jan 8, workers at the REI Indianapolis store kicked off 2024 as the first to file for a union election. The big story @REI didn't want anyone to know about. Today they're voting and the @reiunion vibe is running strong. Go Castleton green vests! 🧵
ICYMI: REI Union SoHo bargaining committee member Claire Chang recently spoke to @AlJazeeraWorld@andyreports about @REI's union busting. “In reality, they [REI] have been fighting us every step of the way from the beginning.”

Thinking about REI's #OptOutside today, here are some words from our coworker Nazira that really hit home the gap between what our values preach vs. how we're really able to opt outside usually:
Last night workers from @REI 's 8 union stores shared their experience, strength and collective voice during @reiunion 's 1st nationwide webinar. It was out of this world! Go green vests 🔥🔥🔥
🚨BREAKING: WE ARE ON STRIKE! 🚨
We the green vests of REI Boston are walking out on a ULP strike this afternoon in protest of the unlawful layoffs of five of our store leads and their refusal to bargain with us over unilateral changes the Co-op has made at our store.
