@rakeshvt@VVRAJESH_BJP Those roads were constructed by the Kerala PWD, and Thiruvananthapuram Corporation was once a model for decentralised waste management. Unfortunately, the new BJP-led corporation has not been able to maintain the standards set by the previous administration. That’s the reality.
This move appears part of a larger strategy. BJP faces political limits in becoming a dominant force in TN. With tacit BJP support, a Tamil-flavoured party led by Annamalai could seek to occupy the political space emerging from the decline of AIADMK.
Annamalai, apparently, has decided to quit BJP. He was their flag bearer not just in Tamil Nadu but all of South India. He was promoted in other states which is telling of his status in BJP. In a way I am glad that he has seen the light because he wasn’t with BJP for just position. There is an inherent problem with Narendra Modi’s leadership and it’s destroying India’s future. I see more people leaving the sinking ship soon.
Comrades, stop obsessing over Satheesan for now. He won a massive mandate. Fight him if his government brings anti-people policies.
But the bigger crisis is within CPM itself. A party that once inspired generations is now in deep decline. Rebuild the party before it is too late.
No protests in Kerala against fuel price hikes, though a consumer state like ours will be hit the hardest.Political parties look dead and lethargic. We mock North Indians, history shows they rise when it matters, against colonialism,Emergency, and perhaps again for India’s future.
@rajitr VS was the man who pioneered the slow destruction of the CPI(M) organisation in Kerala through factionalism. Groupism opened the gates for opportunists and gradually eroded the quality and discipline of the cadre.Don't forget, its VS, who invented Vellapally Natesan.
@amalramesh_@CPIMKerala These oldies and ineffective youth leaders must either retire or move on to BJP or Congress,if they still want to stay in politics. CPM has a strong organizational structure — it’s time to revitalize mass organizations like SFI, DYFI, and CITU, which are now almost defunct.
@SaibBilaval U know nothing about Kerala politics. It was V.S. Achuthanandan, while serving as CPM state secretary, who politically elevated Vellappally and played a key role in making him SNDP president. They later fell out,but the fact remains,VS was the one who discovered and empowered him.
@RijoMJohn@rojimjohn Nothing surprising from a Syro-Malabar nominee. With colleges needing only state NOCs, expect a rise in publicly funded deemed universities. After a decade of improving rankings, our universities now risk being reduced to mere namesake institutions.
What Jinto pointed out was the “Menon tail” Satheesan proudly flaunted during the swearing-in. His criticism was against the regressive symbolism displayed by the Kerala Chief Minister. Whether Jinto is Syro-Malabar, Orthodox, or Roman Catholic is not the crux of his message.
What nonsense is Jinto John saying?
Roman Catholic is not a caste, instead it's a denomination. Btw Jinto is not Roman Catholic, instead he is Syro-Malabar Catholic.
He doesn't know the difference between caste & denomination, and doesn't know the name of his own denomination🤡
Follower of Nehruvian socialism? തേങ്ങാക്കൊല. മേനോൻ സത്യപ്രതിജ്ഞ says it all.. He is a political trapeze artist. Probably the most versatile, we have ever seen.
V.D. Satheeshan is an ardent follower of Nehruvian Socialism, and this economic philosophy led to the stagnation of India’s economy from 1947 to 1991.
Therefore, I do not see any strategic capital investment coming up in the next five years that is essential for Kerala’s development, because most of the money would be spent on FREEBIES unless the UDF-led government implements large-scale deregulation, debureaucratization, and decentralization.
This is exactly why people like @drpal_manickam are a problem when it comes to advice on nutrition. Shame that @EconomicTimes is ready to sell its soul for caste. 👇

@RishiJoeSanu St. Thomas churches under the Vatican today have far more laity and global presence than the other so-called independent St. Thomas churches.
One of the oldest Christian communities in the world is in India
The St. Thomas Christians of Kerala trace their founding to 52 AD, when the Apostle Thomas is said to have landed on the Malabar Coast
When the Portuguese showed up in 1498, they found a Church already 1,400 years old, worshipping in Aramaic
@RishiJoeSanu Then why do St. Thomas churches like the Syro-Malabar and Syro-Malankara function under the authority of the Vatican? Its a historical fact, st. Thomas never visited kerala.
@ARrahmanfreak More than Govindan Master, it’s the so-called youth leadership that needs a reset. Ragesh, Rahim, Sanoj, MB Rajesh, VV Rajesh, Riyas etc, barring maybe Swaraj.all are a burden for the party . If the party won’t reform, it might as well donate them to BJP or Congress for free.
@deebayleaf Casteism and classism do exist in Kerala. But sharing a dining table with workers or eating at their homes is also quite common here. The new generation may be apolitical, but many of them genuinely don’t care about caste, class or colour.
Pinarayi as LOP Would be a no-brainer.Not a single MLA including Balagopal — has the calibre to lead the opposition.KK Shailaja or Swaraj could at least have been fielded in winnable seats.Deeper crisis is clear, second generation used the party to build careers, not @CPIMKerala
VD Satheesan deserves applause. Maybe not the most erudite politician, but he understood the pulse of the new generation while keeping the old guard together. His mass appeal was strong enough to challenge even the high command. a watershed moment in Congress politics.
@JohnBrittas@ShashiTharoor Brittas, the party must step out of its glass houses and face reality. The organization is decaying. Remove the old guard, uproot the weeds that thrived for decades, and listen to criticism of every kind. India’s working class still need CPI(M). Don’t destroy that hope.
