omg d na natapos tong disocurse na to sa account ko sorry pero baket ba ayaw na ayaw niyo sa genuine criticisms that people give to media.. d porket may criticism ibig sabihin panget.. can we not judge media criticially? this is pissing me off
d ko gets pano napapasok sa crab mentality yung pag criticize sa pieces of media that pride itself in being filipino. if anything being critical is going against the crab mentality of just enjoying it no?
u can appreciate that she wanted to connect with her roots and still acknowledge that the execution didn’t work for every filo viewer. criticism isn’t automatically an attack, and audiences shouldn’t be guilt tripped out of expressing a genuine viewing experience byeee
when their bio says "admu" so iaadd ko sila😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@5amanco thats what im sayin!! so many filipino creatives would have willingly contributed for free if they had asked because the initial concept was really promising and exciting for us especially
#also the lovers was in production for so long with so many native filipino artists (and filipinos in general) i know following them and supporting their project. i find it kind of hard to believe their resources were THAT limited with the amount of supporters they had
Asking for representation should NEVER be bare minimum. The reason why we are so particular about it is we get is because we don’t get much to begin with. We will not settle for lack luster representation, our country and it’s creatives deserve so much more than that.
i don't like how non-filipinos react to criticisms from mainland filipinos about how our own cultures + lived experiences are represented by the diaspora (not referring to the ones that are just unnecessarily harsh & nit-picky). your voices aren't the important ones here.
My honest opinion, if you're asking for backing for your film you are asking to be taken seriously. People will have many opinions no matter the outcome and I truly do not believe in fully standing behind the fact that it was made by college students as a way to lessen critcs
@m3re_mail making its way in big audiences but the lovers was never locally based in the first place,, not that it discredits it entirely but youre completely right with the local ph animation scene not getting that same level of traction. tbh the local art scene in general too
the lovers was good to me animation wise and ive been following them since the acc was first made but i feel like most of the criticism being made about it is quite valid imo,, like yes well people arent voicing it very kindly but-
@m3re_mail NO YEAH this is disheartening as well😭 ive known since back then that they werent a local studio so i already set my hopes for accurate pinoy rep a little low but it does irritate me when people say how its so revolutionary and that we should be glad filipino animation is-
IDK sobrang dissapointed lang talaga ako sa accent ni sirena, yun talaga main dissapointment ko 😭 they could have made her speak a different dialect isntead to signify that she wasnt from around manila instead of giving her an american accent
created by filams idk :/ i really did love the animation quality though, the writing could have been better and im just glad to see filipino yuri but im kinda sick of people (mga kapwa pinoy pa nga) to js suck it up and be glad filipinos get rep
i dont like that so many people are kinda just telling people to just appreciate it because its an indie film by a small studio. well yes but how will they flourish if people dont voice their opinions 😭 esp when its filipinos expressing their dissapointment over something -
