I suggest turning on life bars above you allies and enemies in your interface settings of POE, always show sockets, life and mana levels, buffs and aura icons. You can also change cursor color.

And if you want, use bound key for item pickup.

I think Johnathan is absolutely right about what makes a game good. It’s the small details that many of these massive AAA productions miss and the game feels soulless and empty. Path of Exile, BG3, Elden Ring, Steam are proof that success is a result from a labor of love.
