Otis Shanty's latest, UP ON THE HILL, is the jangly slacker rock album you need for the turning of the seasons. We chatted with them about that record, out now via @reliefmaprecs, their relationship to jam culture, the New England music scene, and more! https://t.co/I36Io2WGfr

here's an idea for @Bandcamp day tomrw -
search thru the Asheville tag and consider donating to a few (smaller) artists on there

@taco2day yeah I understand from a business view but feels off coming specifically from an "artist forward" community space to not book an artist unless they have hard market numbers
the places I tend to book (1-200cap venues) don't usually pass along hard numbers just a cut of the door
if a small (nonprofit) venue in your own local community asks for 'hard ticket history' is that normal?
have been booking for a long time and never been asked that so genuinely curious if I should be keeping spreadsheets??

It happens rarely (rip Bent Shapes) but I’ve just stumbled upon a young local band just hitting their stride and so I’m asking you to please check out Otis Shanty if you are into jangle-, dream-, slacker-pop. Also: record release show at Crystal Ballroom in a month.
Recently enjoying this album from Otis Shanty, a jangly indie-pop band whose name refers, improbably, to the fine little village of Otis, Massachusetts.
