Yesterday and today we held the annual GEPS PhD Conference and the end of year plenary. It is always an honour to share research projects and future plans with an incredible academic and human group!!
.@relmug presented the progress of his doctoral thesis related to the trajectories of first-generation students and their experiences of permanence at university in Chile. Results reveal systemic, institutional, relational and subjective explanatory mechanisms.
@GEPSUAB has concluded the academic year with the celebration of its first Phd conference 🎉. In this one-day event, the PhD fellows presented their research and received feedback from professors and colleagues. A beautiful space for learning, sharing and creating community 🧵👇
And now, the Closing Keynote by Prof. Diane Reay:

Or
I read 4 volumes of Bourdieu’s collected lectures so that you would not have to" #Bourdieu2023
Last round of paper sessions of the day (on teachers and families, higher education and elites), plus the symposium "Against all odds: Educational transitions and aspirations in the light of social inequality". #Bourdieu2023
After lunch, a paper session on higher education and the symposia "Educational subjectivities beyond class and time" and "Policy enactment as a field of contestation: school actors' interpretations, negotiations and appropriations". #Bourdieu2023
