With all the emotion swirling about Dame’s impending exit, it got me thinking…What will his reception be upon returning?
My generation had Clyde’s trade to recover from and this is the reception he was given.
Can’t wait for Dame’s time. All ❤️ #RipCity
May 28, 1992: Clyde Drexler dunks on the Portland break—assisted by Terry Porter—during Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals at Utah.
Drexler had 18 PTS/7 AST/7 REB and Porter had 18 PTS/10 AST for the Blazers, who advanced to the NBA Finals with a 105-97 win over the Jazz.
January 9, 1994: Portland's Rod Strickland with a trio of fine finishes at Madison Square Garden.
Strickland finished with 19 PTS/7 REB/6 AST, but the Blazers fell to the Knicks, 99-85. Patrick Ewing scored a game-high 36 PTS (15-23 FG) and John Starks added 30 PTS for New York.
@77Blazers@trailblazers@Raptors@Iambiggie503@ArizonaMBB@chibbs_1 I remember going to that game vs Houston. A fan hit a half court shot at halftime to win a car I believe haha. A lot of buzz in the Rose Garden about Damon coming to town. Also got to see Clyde play in his last NBA game in Portland. #RipCity
@pdxGRAPHIN@Mwerlinger11 I said this very thing in 2021 while visiting my son on the big island and ended up never coming back haha I’m still on the big island😂 good luck to you, sir!
@NBACobwebs As exiting and dynamic as the team was, they were ALWAYS complimented wonderfully by how aggressively loud the MC crowd was. 12,888 souls sounding like 60k easy. Them were the days!
What’s up #RipCity ! If you’ve got a craving for full Trail Blazer games from the late 90’s I’ve got them. Check out the selection at https://t.co/HqZyIcMFIv lots more coming soon!
11/1/06- New season. New Era. Brandon Roy makes his regular season NBA debut vs Ray Allen and the Seattle SuperSonics. Roy chipped in 20 points and played tough on the defensive end down the stretch, helping Portland secure a 110-106 victory.
