The discipline of #pathology in Australia has made a strong commitment to greener practice. In the June issue of Pathology, free to read for the next two months, we feature an editorial by Dr Simone Van Es, RCPA representative on @TheRACP Health and Climate Change MultiCollege Advisory Committee. She comments on an article in the same issue by French authors Rullier et al., placing their novel approach to reusing formalin in an Australian context: https://t.co/VPEtVKZsIn

Exceptional article from our team at Bordeaux University Hospital, led by Anne Rullier, who came up with the extraordinary idea of recycling clear formalin using… a coffee filter! And it works—it’s safe and effective. Open Access article! 👨💻
In the June issue of #Pathology, Rullier et al. describe an efficient process of filtering and reusing formalin, without compromising quality or safety. Read the #OpenAccess article on how they reduced the amount of formalin used in their laboratory, lessening carbon footprint and costs: https://t.co/WDiqv8hRvS

Healthcare contributes 4-5% of global carbon emissions, with pathology being a part of it (reagents ++) ; every step towards sustainability matters. Explore how we can make a difference in our latest publication: https://t.co/s60vUzYE8w 🌍 #Sustainability#Pathology
If you think pathology has a limited impact on the environment and our carbon footprint… think again. 🌍🔬💉 Time to rethink sustainability in labs! #GreenPathology#SustainableScience https://t.co/XYSZ6wrnFV
Thrilled to share the first comprehensive review of sustainability practices in Pathology, with a distinct French accent 🇫🇷 🗣️
Grateful to all the authors of this global review spanning 5 continents:

Think your pathology lab has little environmental impact? Do you think there’s nothing you can do? You’re dead wrong. Rémi Vergara, and Anne Rullier are leading the fight to slash surgical pathology’s carbon footprint. The status quo isn’t sustainable—here’s why it’s time to act. 🚨 Watch Part 1 now. https://t.co/ip6sTRcdYN #GreenPathology #SustainableLabs

At the national pathology congress by in La Baule, @melanopath is currently presenting one of the numerous entities he has described in tumors of soft tissues with melanocytic differentiation: tumors with fusions involving TRIM11, MITF, MED15,... Cheerz !
@melanopath@Vik_deshpandeMD@JClinPath_BMJ In France, we have a task-force currently working hard on it. We have already evaluated useless systematic techniques done in routine, and canceled some.We calculated the carbon cost of moving to digital pathology. We have found a way to recycle used formalin… can we DM ? 😃
