@MaxKetchum_ There’s been interviews with the writers/directors of The Boys where they say that it’s difficult to parody the political landscape right now because they have an idea, put it in the show, then it happens in real life before the episode airs lol
The first time I did the lottery, I was in highschool. I had turned 18 a few weeks beforehand and every single one of the photos of me in a bikini that went viral on the internet in the aftermath were taken when I was 15 or 16 years old. Of course I have aged - I was a child.
I find it so strange that women are asked to delay womanhood as long as possible in favor of some kind of eternal girlhood. I don’t want to be a girl, I don’t aspire to look like a teenager. I am very happy to be a woman. If your beauty standard for me is to look like a child that’s your problem but not mine. This is not the insult that you think it is. ❤️
SGA is the 3rd leading scorer on his team this series down over 10 PPG from his regular season average and his team is up 3-0. He should never get an MVP vote again. His team doesn’t even need him to get to the WCF.
Someone can certainly *make* a billion dollars. That’s not the same thing as earning.
Growing fast and disrupting markets also often means chasing and wielding market power, political influence, and scale.
Take Airbnb. They heavily lobby politicians against passing housing laws to protect working class residents because it’s bad for their business model.
Airbnb could not exist at its current scale and size without the housing market destabilizations, displacements, and exploits that are supercharging the evictions of working people everywhere from Puerto Rico to Jackson Hole.
Now young people are planning for a future where they will never be able to afford to own a home while others have 20 and live off renting it out to them at extortionate rates with zero protections. Yes, a tiny amount of people can make billions of dollars doing that. And millions of everyday Americans are bearing the cost.
Hi, so the woman who carried and gave birth to me was 13 years old, celebrated her 14th birthday only days before I was born. I should’ve been aborted. It’s really terrible that she was made to carry and birth a baby while she was a child herself.
Am I happy to be alive? Yes. Absolutely. Very happy to be here. Would I be mad had I been aborted? No, I wouldn’t exist, I wouldn’t feel anything. I shouldn’t exist. She was a child. The lives of girls/women are more valuable than fetuses.
True story: placed an offer on a home last summer that was listed for 2.25X higher price from just 5 years ago with zero improvements made. Still we loved the home, and have a young family. Seemed worth pursuing
The market was stale - the relative cost of financing this home was 3.65X vs 2020 - and the home had the highest $/sq foot ask in over a year. Unsurprisingly it sat unsold for 30 days, at which point we bid a mere 10% under ask. Their counter? 0.6% reduction. Basically their version of "we don't negotiate with terrorists."
Told them LMAO SMD. The home sat unsold for another 90 days with zero meaningful reductions before owner pulled the listing
10 mounts later I discover it was sold off market to an LLC based in FL (a Boomer or investor no doubt) and boxed my family out of a good home. The search continues
Moral of the story: you don't hate this crop of home owners enough
PETE HEGSETH: “We took out Iran’s nuclear capabilities last year. This war wasn’t started because they were close to getting nuclear weapons, it started because they still had nuclear ambitions.”
Hegseth accidentally tells congress that Iran posed no imminent threat to America.
That would cost Walmart domestically $12B a year. Last year they netted $22B in end of the line profit. Walmart employees are also Walmart customers. Most of that $12B would be spent back at Walmart. They’d also save billions in turnover costs. They’d be just fine.
Every single team and fanbase that plays that team in the playoffs has a meltdown over the officiating but apparently we’re all just coping and blindly hating
