and yes okay this is way oversimplified bc of character count but genuinely i think growing up i was praised for these qualities that eventually would be IMPOSSIBLE to maintain into adulthood, and now i think i’m a failure because i like need to lay down during my lunch sometimes
i’m sure this is not a unique take, but i feel like rewarding kids for perfect attendance is kind of evil- those “perfect” kids are likely showing up sick at some point, it excludes kids that need to stay home for good reasons, and can lead to unhealthy expectations of themselves
this came to mind because i’ve been tweaking all day bc i’m so sore i can barely operate and the reduction in productivity and need for rest is literally triggering my OCD, and i genuinely think this whole pattern started in childhood, after being rewarded for “perfection”!
