It’s normal to initially feel out of place, and this is often exacerbated by having to adapt to a new routine, a different hospital, a new EPR system and everything else that comes with starting a new rotation.

Some tips to help overcome imposter syndrome :
🔹Challenge the internal narrative:
Replace “I don’t belong here” with “I’m here to learn how to do this.”
🔹Find your people: Good seniors, supervisors, mentors and peers can provide perspective when you’re doubting yourself.
🔹Give yourself time: Confidence often comes after repeated exposure, not before it.
🔹Remember how you got there: You met the requirements and earned your place. You don’t need to prove that you deserve to be there every single day.
🔹 Remember that being new is not the same as being incompetent.: You are not expected to know everything on day one.
