Every man who did something that looked impossible to the people around him just had will and nothing else. i know this sounds stupid and reductive but ive watched it enough times to stop doubting it. talent matters so much less than people think. intelligence matters less. money matters less. what matters is whether a man can hold one single decision inside himself long enough for it to start changing the things around him
Commencement speeches have a lot of timeless wisdom codified β and delivered β within a short period of time.
When done well, a commencement speech is the fastest way to "learn" something *important/crucial* about real life from veterans.
So much of what's effective isn't taught + actively written down/codified.
What are other ways (outside of apprenticeship) to gain tacit knowledge, especially the type that slices understanding human behaviour/incentives.
The worst thing about burning out [or breaking your body] is that you might never return to π―% even if you recover. That is, who you were pre-burn out/breaking. In some parts of your mind, there will always be a cautiousness/hesitation in you that you probably never had.
